The acanthus asymmetric scrolling arms with palmette nozzles and detachable beaded drip pans, above inverted lotus domed circular collars; surmounted by a central ribbon tied laurel garlanded pedestal urn with pine-cone finial; the baluster stem supports formed as three infant male scrolling terms on acanthus socles and ribbon tied laurel and vitruvian banded circular bases.
An identical pair can be seen in the Grog Collection in the Louvre, Paris.
This pair of candelabra also bears similarities to a comparable pair in the Wallace Collection which are catalogued as 'in the manner of' Robert-Joseph Auguste (1723-1805, maitre in 1757).
