The rectangular bureau plat is veneered in ebony and has a tooled brown leather writing surface with a wide matted ormolu edge mount. The frieze is applied all around with a wide pierced ormolu band of Vitruvian scroll and husk between bands of beading with a thin brass fillet inlaid above; the protruding angles are applied with rosettes. The front contains three drawers and the reverse a slide with drop ring handles. It stands on four square section tapering legs with recessed angles inlaid with brass fillets, with ormolu drapery at the top of the legs and terminating in square caps and small bun feet. Stamped underneath on the left side.
