English Furniture
England in the 18th century was the wealthiest country in the world and due to the discovery of exotic woods from the colonies, such as mahogany, cabinet makers were creating incredibly sophisticated pieces of furniture to satisfy the demands and fashions that came with this new found wealth. Stately homes and large houses were being built on a huge scale, and the fashion and design of furniture was constantly changing.
